Built in 1320 in Sevenoaks, Kent, Ightham Mote (pronounced ‘item mote’) is a rare example of a moated medieval manor house set in a Kentish sunken alley. It was called “the most complete small medieval manor house in the country” by Nikolaus Pevsner and it contains many special features, including a Great Hall, a crypt, and a Tudor chapel with a hand-painted ceiling. However, one of the most enchanting features has to be the Grade l listed dog kennel, set in the enchanting and picturesque courtyard.
