About Bodiam Castle
Location: Robertsbridge, East Sussex Built: 1385 One of the most famous and evocative castles in Britain, Bodiam was built in the 14th century as both a defence and a comfortable home. Set in a dramatic, watery landscape, the castle has been restored throughout the years after being partially dismantled by parliament in order to repay the owner’s debts. It was donated to the National Trust in 1925.
